  1. During my time in English 110 we have read many essays on the ability to change minds and how difficult it is. The one that has stuck with my throughout the semester is Kwame Anthony Apiah’s essay “The Primacy of Practice.” This essay stuck with me because Apiah shares is opinions of cosmopolitanism and how to treat people equally through understanding their religion views and ethics. The only way we are able to make conversation with one each other is understanding that everyone has gone through things in their lives that we could never fully understand. The best way to change a persons mind is to walk in their shoes and experience how they live their life day to day which is very difficult to do, but not impossible. With enough effort, we would be able to accept everyone for who they are without prejudgement.
  2. I don’t have an essay that I disagree with the most because all of the essay’s have really strong arguments that are undoubtably right, but some are wrong. Out of all the the essays we’ve read, there was not one that I completely disagreed with, all of them had important facts that needed to be taught and needed to be understood
  3. The section that interested me the most was when we had 2 groups arguing over if technology is our downfall, or if it helps us. Both sides had very compelling arguments for their respective sides. Still, in my opinion, technology is our downfall because more and more people are locked on to their phone for hours a day especially during this quarantine.
  4. Change occurs in our lives at all times. We are forced to make choices that might go against our moral code and what we originally believed in, that is what growing as a person is. We have to be able to change our views on certain subject when someone gives good reasons on why too. This occurs mostly in politics while people are explaining their own personal opinions, but most times in politics, people are extremely stubborn and will not change their mind no matter what facts you give them.
